Milford and its environs have many local sports & athletics groups for all ages & levels.

Milford boats playing facilities and changing rooms that are second to none in 13 acres of land that is in the ownership of Milford & District Resource Ltd. The gaelic, soccer and athletic clubs access these facilities under a joint management system with an autonomous committee.

Milford GAA

CLG Baile na nGalloglach was formed in 1983 and comprises of the Rathmullan, Milford and Ramelton areas. GAA activities in the area were catered for prior to this under the Roger Casements banner, a club which was formed in 1972, and, prior to this by Mulroy Gaels who had been in existence since 1963. Mulroy Gaels won a Junior Championship in 1968. Roger Casements won a County Minor Championship in 1977 and also won a County Junior League and Shield in 1978 followed by an Intermediate Championship in 1980.

Otway Golf Club is situated 5km north of Rathmullan village on the shores of Lough Swilly. It is a short links style course boasting a variety of holes, form short par fours to tricky, deceptive par threes.

Golf has been played on the Portsalon links, Donegal, since the 1880’s. The club was one of the founder members of the Golfing Union of Ireland, the oldest golfing union in the world.

Originally designed by Thompson of Portrush, the layout has evolved over the decades with significant changes being undertaken under the guidance of Pat Ruddy in 2000.

Currently ranked in the top 25 courses in Ireland by Golf Digest, Portsalon continues to progress, with the 2014 Ryder Cup captain, Paul McGinley, guiding further improvements.

Nestled under the Knockalla mountains and stretching along the magnificent Ballymastocker beach, a true test of links golf presents itself. Above all, a warm welcome awaits you.

The Rosapenna Hotel & Golf Resort in North-West Donegal, Ireland has recently acquired the 370 acres formally known as St. Patrick’s Golf Links (36 holes) that adjoins the 800 acre dune system at Rosapenna. These 36 extra links holes now leave Rosapenna (45 holes to date) with 81 links golf holes along the picturesque Sheephaven Bay including the Old Tom Morris Links, Sandy Hills Links, No.3 Links, No.4 Links & the Coastguard Nine becoming the second largest links golf destination in Europe after St Andrews in Scotland.
